Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Elasticsearch Administrator with 3 years of handson experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design implementation maintenance and optimization of our Elasticsearch environments. You will collaborate with a global team of administrators to design automate build operate and continuously enhance the indexing services that support our customerfacing SaaS products.
What you will do
- Monitor cluster health performance and resource utilization
- Implement security best practices including authentication authorization and encryption
- Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Elasticsearch issues
- Perform cluster upgrades and patches with minimal downtime
- Optimize query performance and data indexing strategies
- Collaborate with development teams to implement efficient search solutions
- Create and maintain documentation for Elasticsearch configurations and procedures
- Implement highavailability and disaster recovery solutions
- Act as a backup for other team members when necessary.
- Provide oncall support and working offhours as needed to ensure reliability and availability
- Biweekly rotating shifts are necessary to ensure coverage during weekends
What you will have
- 3 years of handson experience administering Elasticsearch clusters
- Strong understanding of Elasticsearch architecture and core concepts
- Experience with Kibana Logstash and Beats (ELK/Elastic Stack)
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting
- Knowledge of JVM tuning and garbage collection optimization
- Experience with monitoring tools for Elasticsearch
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker Kubernetes)
- Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment working on projects against strict deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams including developers system reliability engineers and other business units
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot user facing service incidents & outages
Nice to have
- Elasticsearch certification
- Experience with cloudbased Elasticsearch deployments (AWS GCP Azure)
- Experience with monitoring tools and techniques (e.g. New Relic Splunk etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Background in performance tuning for largescale search applications
- Experience with automation or CI/CD tools such as Terraform Ansible GitLab or SaltStack
