OVERVIEW
The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the procurement and delivery of all equipment and materials necessary forbusiness operations throughout Washington and Oregon.


They foster and nurture strong personal relationships with outside suppliers and manufacturers while ensuring the company receivesoptimal pricing up to date product info and availability favorable credit terms and a steady supply of delivered product.


In close collaboration with our Sales Estimating and Operations teams the Purchasing Supervisor will collaborate in discussions torecommend which products to offer our residential and commercial clients. They will maintain an internal list of approved productsincluding current pricing available supply relevant technical specifications and any distinct selling points or targeted customersegments.


The Purchasing Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring the proper tracking reporting and accounting of all purchasingrelatedactivities resulting in wellstocked supply rooms and a seamless justintime inventory system.


This key employee reports to the CFO and directly manages the purchasing clerk. Additionally there will be regular coordination withemployees across the company including the Accounting Warehouse Project Management Installation Design Estimating andSales teams.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Order Management

  • Ensure timely and accurate purchase orders for individual projects and stock materials
  • Develop and refine standardized procurement processes and methodologies
  • Ensure ontime delivery and accuracy of all orders received in warehouse and the field
  • Coordinate and strategize with Project Managers for onsite deliveries and logistics
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of incoming outgoing and stocked materials

Vendor Relations

  • Develop and maintain strong personal relationships with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Monitor and negotiate in partnership with the CFO competitive pricing favorable contract terms and stable supply of
    products
  • Maintain regular communication with outside vendors so that new product info sales strategies pricing changes andcurrent availability can be shared with inhouse teams
  • Create and maintain scorecard to measure supplier effectiveness

Product Selection & Tracking

  • Collaborate with Sales and Estimating teams to determine appropriate commercial and residential product offerings
  • Solicit feedback from Installation and Project Management teams for types and quantities of preferred consumablesand collaborate with the Warehouse Manager.
  • Research new products and installation methods for potential adoption
  • Provide frequent updates on product availability pricing and ordering strategy to sales and project teams

Personnel Management

  • Coach guide and assist in the professional development of direct reports including biannual performance reviews
  • Organize and lead recurring meetings with Purchasing team


REQUIREMENTS

  • Five or more years of purchasing experience preferably in a leadership position for a service construction or trade based company.
  • Proven track record of optimizing processes supply chain operations and delivering operational efficiency.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting forecasting and resource management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainability initiatives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
