Job Description

LC State invites applications for the position of Competitive Integrated Employment Specialist.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $47325 $58000 (10month appointment)

Degree Required: Bachelors degree in special education or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university

Required Qualifications:

  1. Experience delivering training and/or instruction to individuals with disabilities.
  2. Communication and networking experience.
  3. Using computer software and applications for online communication and research word processing developing spreadsheets producing presentation and generating reports.
  4. Experience working independently and in a selfdirected manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Masters degree in special education or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
  2. Experience in data analytics.
  3. Experience with inclusive postsecondary education programs for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  4. Experience facilitating job training activities.
  5. Experience delivering training and/or coaching to support learners.
  6. Experience planning and delivering events.
  7. Ability to produce electronic promotional materials.
  8. Experience working with K12 education programs.
  9. Familiarity with Special Education in Idaho.
  10. Familiarity with Federal Laws and Policy regarding Special Education.
  11. Familiarity with LewisClark State College.
  12. Experience in using academic data to impact instruction and school systems thinking and planning.

Responsibilities:

  1. Working in collaboration with SPARC and Teacher Education & Mathematics Division (TEAM).
  2. Leading the SPARC Job Training Program.
  3. Arranging and facilitating work internship placements.
  4. Developing and adapting programmatic materials.
  5. Support and delivering training to employment internship partners.
  6. Working with ECLIPSE Grant staff to improve services.
  7. Delivering direct instruction to SPARC students.
  8. Participating in professional development activities both individually and as a team.
  9. Leading efforts to deliver an annual Reverse Career Fair.
  10. Facilitating SPARC student mentorship opportunities.
  11. Supporting SPARC student success in college courses.
  12. Supervise Peer Mentor Job Coaches.
  13. Design and oversee training of Peer Job Coaches.
  14. Evaluate Peer Job Coach performance.
  15. Collaborate with other ECLIPSE Grant CIE Specialists at sister institutions (University of Idaho Boise State University) and staff.
  16. Support interagency collaboration efforts (e.g. Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation).
  17. As requested representing SPARC/ECLIPSE professionally on various councils task forces workgroups and committees.
  18. Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
  19. Other duties as assigned.
