Job Description:
As a Principal Engineer/Scientist on the RS3 UAS Contract you will be a senior leader in the design development and implementation of advanced engineering and scientific solutions for unmanned aerial systems (UAS). This highlevel role requires you to apply your extensive experience to lead and drive technical strategies ensuring project goals are met with the highest standards of quality and security. You will be responsible for overseeing complex tasks performing indepth technical analysis and providing leadership to a team of engineers and scientists. Your role will include mentoring junior staff and helping shape the overall technical direction of the project. A Secret Clearance is required for this role to operate securely within the contracts parameters.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Must meet DoD 8570.01M IAT II requirements.
- Minimum of 10 years of related job experience gained postdegree from an accredited institution.
- Engineers must have received their engineering degree from an accredited program of study.
- Scientists must have received a science degree from an accredited college or university.
- Must be capable of receiving guidance from seniorlevel managers/engineers/scientists and working independently to accomplish assigned tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering or scientific efforts in support of the RS3 UAS Contract ensuring all tasks are executed to meet technical objectives and security requirements.
- Provide strategic direction and technical leadership in the development of UAS solutions.
- Perform complex technical analysis assessments and evaluations to ensure the highest levels of performance and innovation.
- Mentor junior engineers and scientists fostering a culture of growth and knowledgesharing.
- Ensure technical decisions align with project goals and contribute to the overall success of the UAS program.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Expertise in engineering or scientific principles methodologies and practices as they relate to UAS.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong leadership problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record in highlevel technical analysis system evaluations and project management.
- Active DoD 8570.01M IAT II certification preferred.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance.
