Job Description
Upskills provides expert financial software consulting for investment banks and leading financial institutions in Asia Pacific Middle East and Europe region. With a strong Front to Back expertise of the cash and derivatives markets coupled by an in-depth knowledge of financial markets technologies we provide smart business-wise and efficient solutions.
We are seeking a highly motivated System Engineer to join our Upskills ODC Team with strong experience Managing unix environments and infrastructure management. The successful candidate will integrate a fast growing team and get direct exposure to the technical challenges of international financial institutions. You will take part of important software implementation and be responsible for and not limited to:
- Deploy and manage Murex Software using Murex tools and scripts.
- Perform basic smoke tests. Act as a first level support re-directing and following the issues with the corresponding support teams.
- Utilize Murex configuration management tools & methodologies to import/export configuration items and analyze related issues.
- Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using Jenkins and Atlassian tools.
- Support and manage infrastructure components using Linux Docker and Kubernetes.
- Manage and maintain development staging and production environments ensuring consistency and high availability.
- Test configure and install devices: router firewall switch access point server PC
- Follow up manage project progress and provide prompt action to ensure it to match the planned schedule and to meet customer demand.
- Provide day-to-day support to ensure the smooth running of the computers network devices printers as well as end users requirements.
- Manage IT infrastructure system monitoring and reports.
- Interact with our international clients and our business analysts in Singapore and other entities under Upskills.
- Scheduled maintenance and patching of Infrastructure environments as necessary.
- Take initiatives to build internal tools.
- Create and perform authorized changes to customer environments.
- Manage incidents and problems appropriately within agreed service levels.
Requirements
- Master or Bachelors Degree in Information Technology Computer Network Data Communications or Sciences.
- At least 2 years of experience as DevOps/System Engineer. Freshers are very welcome to apply too.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware software and OS (Windows and macOS).
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g. Bash Python or similar) for deployment and infrastructure tasks.
- Experienced with Shell Script SQL.
- Experienced in Control-M setup and familiarity with batch architecture.
- Hands-on experience in Windows server administration and basic knowledge in Linux server administration.
- Have experience with Linux and Oracle Database.
- Have experience about Cloud is a big plus.
- Understanding of TCP/IP IP addressing and LAN Technology including switching and routing fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
- Basic knowledge of Data migration Data warehouse and database security principles.
- Keen interest in financial markets. Working knowledge of financial products a plus.
- Fluent English and good communication skills.
