Position Summary:
The Operational Excellence Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and enhancing overall business performance. They are responsible for identifying and coding issues related to various areas such as orders and inventory. This role works closely with crossfunctional teams to identify areas for improvement develop strategies and implement initiatives to optimize operational processes and drive continuous improvement.
Measures of success:
- Reason codes are assigned to each occurrence
- Key performance indicators show improvement year over year
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analyze data and information as well as work with crossfunctional teams to continuously assign reason codes for missed/poor performance in various areas (such as ontime performance excess/obsolete inventory shipping errors etc.).
- Identify gaps in targeted key performance indicators and develop strategies to address them or recommend opportunities for Continuous Improvement teams.
- Continue to build knowledge of the organization and processes and list areas of continued process improvement.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify where operational goals and objectives are not in alignment with key performance indicators.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of operational excellence initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management.
- Leads trainings as needed.
- Lead and/or participate on a Continuous Improvement team as required.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Supply Chain or a related field; significant applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
- 4 years of proven experience in driving operational excellence and process improvement initiatives
- Strong working knowledge of various Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems with the ability to become a subject matter expert on Epicor
- Demonstrated experience in understanding planning processes
- Ability to influence upward across and down without formal authority
- Adept at leading trainings
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
Work Environment
This position works primarily in an office environment using computers and technology. Verbal and auditory capability are required. Occasional exposure in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas.
This position reports into the site every day and may be able to work from home on an ad hoc basis.

This position has no direct reports.
