Overview:
A nationally recognized insurance organization is seeking a strategic and experienced Manager of Casualty Underwriting & Program Management. This role will be instrumental in leading underwriting efforts within the hybrid fronting and alternative markets space specifically focused on casualty lines such as commercial auto and general liability. The successful candidate will bring strong technical acumen leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of delegated authority programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee program underwriting and portfolio performance across multiple delegated authority partners

  • Develop and refine underwriting guidelines products and procedures aligned with risk appetite

  • Partner with actuarial claims legal and compliance teams to ensure robust risk assessment

  • Evaluate complex risks and make informed underwriting decisions

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with MGAs reinsurers and other strategic partners

  • Monitor program performance and drive profitability improvements

  • Lead underwriting audits and manage associated reporting processes

  • Mentor and lead a team of underwriters fostering a highperformance culture

  • Analyze market trends and contribute to product innovation

  • Deliver strategic insights and reporting to senior leadership

  • Stay current on regulatory updates and industry best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum 7 years of casualty underwriting experience with increasing responsibility

  • Deep knowledge of commercial auto and general liability lines

  • Proven success managing program business and developing strategic partnerships

  • Strong analytical decisionmaking and leadership skills

  • Familiarity with underwriting technology and analytics tools

  • CPCU AU or other industry designations preferred

  • Willingness to travel occasionally
