Job Description
LC State invites applications for the position of Child Care Provider.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $15.86 $17.31
Required Qualifications:
- Some knowledge of the normal development of children from six weeks to preschool age.
- Some knowledge of methods used to teach preschool children basic skills.
- Experience reading and understanding written instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- National competencybased credential as a Certified Childcare Professional or Child Development.
- Associates degree from a regionally accredited college or university and two years experience as a teacher.
- Associates degree from a regionally accredited college or university in early childhood education schoolage care child development social work nursing sociology psychology human development and family studies or another childrelated field and one year of experience as a teacher.
- Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university in early childhood education schoolage care child development social work nursing sociology psychology human development and family studies or another childrelated field.
Responsibilities:
- Support childrens emotional and social development encouraging understanding of others and positive selfconcepts.
- Plans and prepares developmentally appropriate curriculum activities including art music and physical activities.
- Implements activity plans.
- Monitors observes and interacts with children.
- Cares for the physical needs of children including feeding diapering toileting dressing and administering medications.
- Communicates with parents orally and in writing concerning the needs progress and behavior of children.
- Maintains attendance meal and activity records.
- Assures a safe environment.
- Designs bulletin boards and other displays.
- Assists with food preparation service and cleanup.
- Be a backup when the Director is absent.
- Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.

Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds stand sit stoop squat run and climb stairs.
