Salary: Level 9 Step 1 ($105612.00 annually)

Reporting to the Implementation Manager the incumbent leads the TH Governments ongoing efforts to reflect revitalize and embed Dnezhu ways of being knowing and governing across all aspects of governance with a specific focus on ensuring that TH legislation policies practices and procedures are grounded in Dnezhu values principles and worldview. The incumbent plays a key role in building internal capacity cultivating future leaders and supporting the TH Governments implementation monitoring and mentorship efforts. This work includes leading strategic initiatives such as the Dnezhu Law Revitalization Project developing education resources and fostering understanding through culturally responsive engagement. The incumbent ensures that knowledge is respectfully documented for current and future use and that ethical confidential and culturally safe approaches guide all efforts.


An Eligibility List may be established from this competition the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent fulltime permanent parttime temporary fulltime temporary parttime term or auxiliary oncall vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in Indigenous studies ethnography policy governance public administration law or related field with a minimum of two years of work experience in a related field; an equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.
  • General knowledge of Indigenous ways philosophies and worldviews with knowledge of Yukon Indigenous peoples history cultures values traditions and ways of life.
  • Knowledge of Dnezhu ways philosophies and worldview.
  • Experience analyzing developing and presenting policy guidance and options through collaborative processes.
  • Experience working with and writing about Indigenous knowledge philosophies values and practices.
  • Experience in applying an Indigenous and Dnezhu lens to governance structures including legislation policy guidelines and practices.
  • Experience facilitating and leading group consultations with diverse interests to reach consensus.
  • Awareness of the political cultural social and economic environments in which SelfGoverning Yukon First Nations operate.

  • Strong mentoring skills and ability to connect with varied audiences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative internal and external relationships with groups and individuals.
  • Ability to act in a manner that conveys high personal and professional standards consistent with principles and values important to the TH Government.
