Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and visionary Chief Architect to join our Technology Team at Caseware a leading SaaS organization. As the Chief Architect you will play a critical role in shaping and developing our architecture and AI integration strategy as well as implementing cloudnative solutions for our AWSpowered SaaS platform.
You will work closely with the CTO Engineering DevOps Product and Security teams to design scalable secure and highperformance products that transform the audit industry. Your expertise in AI/ML multitenant SaaS microservices and cloud security will be instrumental in driving our technological innovation forward.
This is a fulltime permanent position
Location:This is a flexible role available as hybrid (3 days in our Toronto office located at 351 King St E Suite 1100 Toronto ON) or fully remote for candidates residing and eligible to work in Canada.

What you will be doing:
- Strategic Architecture Leadership: Provide strategic architecture leadership by defining and executing a cloudnative AIdriven architecture strategy that aligns with business goals and desired outcomes. Promote the adoption of AWS best practices to ensure scalability reliability and security across the organization. Establish and maintain a robust multitenant serverless and microservicesbased architecture while implementing architecture review processes that align with audit compliance and security standards. Lead the integration of advanced technologies such as Machine Learning (ML) Natural Language Processing (NLP) Large Language Models (LLM) Agentic AI and AI automation to enhance audit and compliance solutions. Collaborate closely with Product Engineering Cloud Operations and Security teams to translate business needs into scalable and effective technical solutions.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture: Architect and optimize solutions leveraging a broad range of AWS services including compute options such as AWS Lambda ECS Fargate and EC2; storage solutions like S3 EFS and Glacier; databases including DocumentDB DynamoDB RDS (PostgreSQL MySQL) and Amazon Redshift; networking and security components such as VPC AWS WAF AWS Shield IAM and AWS KMS; serverless and eventdriven architecture tools like SNS SQS EventBridge and Step Functions; and observability and monitoring services including New Relic CloudWatch XRay and OpenTelemetry. Champion InfrastructureasCode (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform AWS CDK and CloudFormation while optimizing application architectures for high availability disaster recovery and cost efficiency.
- Software & Application Architecture: Define best practices for microservices containerization using Docker and Kubernetes and APIfirst design while promoting architectural patterns such as domaindriven design (DDD) eventdriven architectures and CQRS. Guide engineering teams in the modernization of legacy systems into cloudnative architectures and champion the integration of AI/MLdriven automation to enhance auditing and compliance processes including the use of AIassisted code generation and DevOps automation.
- Security Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to key regulatory and security standards such as SOC 2 ISO 27001 GDPR and other financial compliance frameworks while enforcing a zerotrust security architecture rolebased access control (RBAC) and secure software development practices. Additionally guide teams in implementing AWS WellArchitected Framework principles to strengthen security and ensure system reliabilit
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of solution architects and senior engineers while fostering a culture of innovation collaboration and continuous learning. Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies including AWS advancements AI/ML and blockchain to enhance auditing solutions and serve as a strategic technology advisor to executive leadership partners and clients.

- 15 yearsinsoftware architecture engineering leadership or cloud solutions design.
- 10 yearsin designing and implementingcloudnative applications on AWS.
- Deep expertise inmultitenant SaaS architectureanddistributed systems.
- Strong background inmicroservices API designGraphQLgRPC and RESTful services.
- Proficiency inPython Java TypeScript or Gofor cloudnative application development.
- Experience withCI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions AWSCodePipeline JenkinsArgoCD).
- Strong knowledge ofserverless Kubernetes (EKS) and containerizationbestpractices.
- Familiarity withAI/ML integration in financial/auditing applicationsis a plus.
