The Transporter safely moves patients to and from hospital areas and the Imaging Services Department in a wheelchair or on a stretcher cart for various imaging examinations and procedures while providing compassionate and attentive patient care.

Personal

• Safely transports patients to and from hospital areas and departments utilizing proper equipment (wheelchair or cart) appropriate to the patients condition and lifting techniques.
• Promptly transports patient to destination and notifies patient arrival to designated individual.
• Perform patient transfers with approved transfer mobility equipment when appropriate.
• Successfully completes hospitalwide orientation annual hospital competencies and department/unit specific competencies.
• For the safety of our patients and coworkers St. Lukes Hospital requires seasonal and jobrelated vaccinations. This is reviewed regularly during periodic health assessments.
• Patient transporters may transport contrast media to inpatients ED patients 600044
• Performs other duties as assigned

Team

• Maintains cleanliness of equipment and workspace and reports equipment malfunctions in a timely manner.
• Understand requirements for student supervision as outlined in the Student Supervision policy.
• Support the School of Radiology educational process.
• Maintain current knowledge of School of Radiology policies procedures and student progress.
• Communicate with School of Radiology faculty on studentrelated progress and issues.

• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within three (3) months from date of hire.
• Must complete on the job training.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to understand written verbal and other sensory stimuli.
• Must have the ability to analyze written and spoken English.
• Must be able to cope effectively with stressful situations and time constraints.
• Must be able to interpret scientific data in a logical and coherent manner.
• Must be able to independently solve problems and follow detailed written and verbal instruction.
• Must be able to work well with all customers and coworkers.
