Job Description and Responsibilities

The Benefits Coordinator role is responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the Benefits department with a focus on benefits administration. This position assists in processing employee data coordinating benefits enrollments and changes responding to employee inquiries and ensuring Benefits processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Benefits Support

  • Process benefits billing and reimbursements
  • Process new hire enrollments life event changes and terminations in HR Information System
  • Support Benefits Team with scheduling filing and data entry.
  • Serve as a point of contact for routine benefits questions and direct complex issues to the Benefits Analyst or Manager.
  • Help prepare and distribute benefits materials and communications.
  • Support open enrollment activities including scheduling system updates and employee assistance.
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with applicable benefits regulations (e.g. HIPAA ACA COBRA).

Compliance & Reporting

  • Assist with generating benefits reports as needed.

  • Help ensure benefits records comply with federal state and local laws.

Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years administrative or customer service background required. Prior HR or benefits experience preferred but not required;

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with HRIS systems a plus.
  • Customer-focused mindset and problem-solving skills.
