Dual Enrollment Program Coordination
Coordinate the dualenrollment ECED program in collaboration with the MACC ensuring alignment with Ivy Techs curriculum and academic standards.
Develop and maintain partnerships with local early learning programs to secure student apprenticeship placements.
Complete all necessary apprenticeship paperwork.
Act as a liaison between Ivy Tech MACC and community partners to ensure successful program implementation and continuous improvement.
Instructional Duties
Teach first and second year ECED courses per semester for high school dualenrollment students using engaging ageappropriate and researchbased teaching strategies aligned to NAEYC Standards and Competencies.
Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and assessments to support student learning and development.
Post both high school and college final grades in accordance with institutional policies and deadlines.
Incorporate field placement experiences into the curriculum to enhance handson learning opportunities.
Field Placement Coordination
Coordinate and supervise student apprenticeships and field placements for all high school students.
Visit high school students on a rotational regular basis while at their field sites.
Ensure field placements align with program objectives and meet accreditation standards.
Monitor student performance during apprenticeships providing feedback and support to both students and site supervisors.
Maintain accurate documentation of field placements and related student activities.
Career Coaching and Advising
Advise dual enrollment students to ensure successful high school completion and alignment with their transfer and career goals.
Support students in navigating the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Indiana scholarship program to complete the Ivy Tech ECED AS TSAP pathway.
Provide guidance for students considering transfer to bachelors degree programs including creating clear pathways for academic and career advancement.
Assist students in identifying and securing employment opportunities in the early childhood education field.
Administrative Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Early Childhood Education Department Chair to align program goals and outcomes including necessary documentation for grant outcomes and NAEYC accreditation.
Work with the Department Chair to coordinate reporting and forms for apprenticeship grant payments.
Stay current with trends and best practices in early childhood education to ensure program excellence.
Maintain compliance with state federal and accreditation standards for early childhood education programs.
Attend relevant department and campus meetings.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Required:
Masters degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or a related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in early childhood education including teaching career coaching and field placement coordination.
Hold or be able to quickly acquire the Council for Professional Recognitions Professional Development Specialist (PDS) credential for preschool and infant toddler to qualify to complete CDA verification visits for high school students.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with educational institutions and community partners.
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with learning management systems and other educational technologies.
Preferred:
Experience with dualenrollment programs or teaching high school students.
Knowledge of apprenticeship programs workforce development initiatives and scholarship programs such as T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Indiana.
Familiarity with NAEYC accreditation standards.
