You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Privacy compliance function is responsible for helping to ensure regulatory compliance effectiveness throughout Manulife Canada by developing compliance programs standards and practices and facilitating the implementation and accountability of these programs standards and practices.
The Director Canada Privacy reports to the Chief Privacy Officer Canada and is tasked with providing advice guidance management and monitoring of the Canada privacy program.
Position Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining program documents processes and workflows to support the ongoing adoption of the Canada privacy program across Canada Markets.
Leading the management of privacy issues as they arise including working with Privacy Legal Counsel and Business Unit Chief Compliance Officers as appropriate.
Providing guidance and oversight on Privacy Risk Management (acting as Line 2) to help ensure compliance with privacy regulatory requirements and Company policies.
Developing and managing a Canada monitoring program for privacy compliance control effectiveness through the performance of quality assurance reviews and assessment of key privacy compliance controls; and
Managing of privacyrelated investigations and conduct mandatory internal and external reporting of escalated privacy incidents.
Confer with the Chief Privacy Officer Canada and/or Privacy Legal Counsel on high risk contentious litigious privacy issues complaints and requests.
Helping to drive consistent and efficient approaches to common privacy activities by working with Business Unit Compliance and other Line 2 functions.
Support Key Risk Audit preparation periodic reporting process improvements and facilitate change management as required.
Required Qualifications:
8 years progressive experience in risk management compliance or legal roles.
Bachelors degree in law social sciences business IT or a related field.
Exceptional writing and oral communication skills.
Strong and proven program management capabilities and experience.
Competent people leader with experience in building highperformance teams.
Proven interpersonal skills: collaboration and communications skills (oral written presentation) ability to build relationships engage and influence others. Must be comfortable dealing with individuals at all levels of the organization including senior management.
Exceptional analytical and problemsolving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
A masters degree or relevant certifications (e.g. CIPP CIPM CISSP) is preferred.
Understanding of corporate organizational structures and Canadian regulatory environment.
Welldeveloped planning and organizational skills with strong detail orientation.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable when dealing with change.
Strong team player achievement oriented; works well to establish and maintain collaboration.
Ability to think strategically assess alternatives for short and longterm impacts and act decisively.

Salary range is expected to be between
$105750.00 CAD $190350.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location please contact for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant jobrelated factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training.
