Salary: R216000 per annum (marketrelated subject to experience)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Technician to provide technical support and maintain IT systems. The successful candidate will troubleshoot hardware and software issues ensure network functionality and support endusers to maintain operational efficiency. This role involves handson technical support system maintenance and collaboration with IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install configure and maintain computer hardware software and networks.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to desktops laptops printers and peripherals.

  • Provide first and secondline support to endusers logging and tracking issues via ticketing systems.

  • Monitor and maintain network performance including routers switches and firewalls.

  • Perform regular system updates backups and security checks.

  • Assist with IT asset management and inventory tracking.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and South African IT and labor regulations.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • South African High School Qualification: National Senior Certificate (Matric/Grade 12 with passes in Mathematics and English.

  • Tertiary Qualification (Advantageous):

    • National Certificate Vocational (NCV) Level 4 in Information Technology and Computer Science from an accredited TVET College.

    • OR National Diploma (N4N6 in Information Technology or Technical Support from a TVET College.

    • OR Diploma/Degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field from a recognized university.

Experience and Skills

  • 02 years of experience in IT support technical support or a related role (experience in a TVET or IT environment is an advantage).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook) and operating systems (Windows Linux is advantageous).

  • Knowledge of networking principles and hardware (e.g. routers switches wireless systems).

  • Familiarity with IT support tools (e.g. ticketing systems remote desktop software).

  • Strong problemsolving communication and timemanagement skills.

  • Basic understanding of South African tax laws and compliance (e.g. PAYE UIF SDL) is a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid South African drivers license (Code 8 is an advantage.

  • Ability to undergo vetting processes (citizenship criminal checks qualification verification).

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A Network or Microsoft Certified: IT Support are advantageous.

Package and Benefits

In compliance with South African labor laws the remuneration package includes:

  • Basic Salary: R216000 per annum subject to annual review based on performance.
