Job Description
Believer Meats is an innovative startup revolutionizing the food industry through the development and commercialization of cultivated meat products. Leveraging cuttingedge biotechnology we aim to provide sustainable ethical and highquality meat alternatives to consumers worldwide. As we near the completion of a new plant and prepare for commercialization we are seeking an Industrial Food Manufacturing Technician to join our team.
Summary
The Industrial Food Production Technician will play a key role in the startup and daily operations of Believers food manufacturing activities. This position involves the operation preparation and sanitation of industrial food production equipment and production areas. The Technician will also perform preventative maintenance troubleshooting and calibration to keep equipment running efficiently and develop indepth knowledge of the production looking for a mechanically inclined operator with experience in food manufacturing who is eager to grow their skills in a dynamic environment.
Schedule: The Technicianwill work 10hour shifts Monday to Thursday until production startup. The regular schedule will then be a 233 rotation including weekday and weekend work on the dayshift.
This is a fulltime hourly (nonexempt) role eligible for generous benefits including PTO Health Care Retirement and Parental and Medical Leaves (subject to company policies including eligibility and waiting periods).
Your DaytoDay
- Assist in the safe preparation operation sanitation and maintaining of processing equipment which includes mixers extruders fryers and ovens.
- Will be expected to support R&D trials by monitoring processes collecting and recording production data.
- Work closely with product developers and engineers to execute R&D trials and to refine processes.
- Maintain accurate records of plant activities as well as records and observations from R&D trial runs.
- Expected to help troubleshoot any issues with production equipment and to perform routine maintenance under the direction of the Maintenance Department.
- Assist in tracking and managing the inventory of raw materials packaging materials and other supplies needed for production.
- Ensure compliance with safety quality and food safety standards set by Believer Meats.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to quality SOPs SSOPs and HACCP plan.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have2 years of experience in the manufacturing field preferably in the food & beverage or consumer packaged goods industries. We are seeking a candidatewith demonstrated experience and knowledge of operating production equipment as well as basic mechanical skills.
The incumbent will have a combination of skills education and experience that demonstrate the ability to fulfill all aspects of this job description including:
- Ability to work in a fastpaced and evolving production environment while simultaneously monitoring equipment and performing other production tasks.
- Experience with production machines and processes related to kitting mixing and/ or extrusion. Prior experience in manufacturing snack bars cereals pasta or meat products would be directly applicable.
- Basic mechanical skills to handle production equipment (ex: using basic tools or assembling simple machine parts).
- Knowledge of FDA/USDA regulated production and GPMs.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately while working independently and as part of a team.
- Good problemsolving skills and a willingness to grow and learn in our startup company.
- Must consistently follow all safety and food safety protocols guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This includes properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) identifying and reporting potential hazards and actively participating in safety training and initiatives. A commitment to maintaining a culture of safety and minimizing risks to yourself and your colleagues is essential.
- Ability to regularly commute to and work onsite in Wilson North Carolina.
- Authorized to work in the US (Believer is an EVerify participant).

- Mobility: Ability to move around manufacturing facilities including navigating stairs ramps and uneven surfaces. Must be able to access confined spaces and work in tight areas as required. Will be expected to work in a dry and wet environment.
- Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hand and power tools for maintenance and repairs. Ability to manipulate small components and perform intricate tasks.
- Physical Endurance: Capable of standing walking and performing physical tasks for extended periods. Able to lift push and pull heavy equipment or materials as needed.
- Visual and Auditory Acuity: Must have keen eyesight and hearing to identify potential safety hazards and diagnose equipment issues. Ability to distinguish colors and operate machinery with visual indicators.
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds as needed. Proficient in using appropriate lifting techniques to prevent injury.
