Position Summary

This position will serve as our technical expert for our ElectroMechanical Actuation product that is being developed. The ElectroMechanical actuator is a key component used in electrically powered aircraft. This position will collaborate directly with customers and crossfunctionally with our internal sales marketing design and operations teams.

Key Accountabilities

• Serve as technical expert and lead technical discussions with customers on application of Rexnord Aerospace products to provide/improve customer satisfaction with a focus on supporting the Electric Aircraft Market.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Team Sales Engineering Quality Planning Purchasing and Operations to ensure we deliver a successful project on time at acceptable revenues with zero quality defects
• Manage projects tightly to detailed master program schedules and milestones. Coordinate schedule compliance for all deliverables. Manage impact of material and delivery schedules to the operational aspects of the business
• Maintain ownership of numerous new product introductions development activities and Engineering projects across all functional lines
• Assist in Identifying & driving continuous improvement opportunities within the facilities and at our suppliers locations.
• Contribute to the breakthrough product development process
• Maintain and improve existing products
• Create and maintain policies procedures engineering standards programs and work instructions

Job Requirements. Capabilities and Success Factors

• This position has flexibility to work onsite in Downers Grove IL; remote or hybrid
• Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline
• 7 years of Engineering design work experience
• Advanced knowledge in the application design and theory of operations for electromechanical actuators
• Experience in designing actuators for Aerospace applications required
• Working knowledge of 3D Solid Modeling software such as SolidWorks Inventor CREO and/or CATIA
• Advanced knowledge of engineering part drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• General working knowledge of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools
• Knowledge of Stage Gate Process
• Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment is a plus
• Experience in root cause analysis and formal problemsolving techniques
• Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
• Strong customer service orientation/ High level of interpersonal skills
• Capable of occasional travel to customers and plants
