Position Overview
The VP of Commercial Operations plays a critical executive role at Tailos leading all aspects of our customerfacing strategy and execution. This role encompasses leadership of the sales marketing and customer success teams as well as managing distribution and license partnerships (such as with Bissell) fulfillment operations and serving as the key voice of the customer for product management and strategic prioritization. This role ensures the alignment of our gotomarket efforts with customer needs business objectives and longterm growth.
Reporting to the CEO the VP of Commercial Operations is responsible for building and executing a commercial strategy that delivers revenue growth strengthens customer relationships and informs product development through realtime market insights. The VP of Commercial Operations is also a key member of the executive leadership team contributing to overall company strategy organizational planning and team development.
Key Responsibilities Commercial Strategy & Leadership
- Define and lead the companys commercial strategy aligning gotomarket initiatives with Tailos mission and growth goals.
- Oversee and scale the sales marketing and customer success functions to drive performance accountability and collaboration.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure the health and impact of all commercial activities.
- Collaborate with the executive team on companywide strategic initiatives team development and longterm planning.
Sales Leadership
- Set and execute the sales strategy including pipeline development revenue forecasting territory planning and account management.
- Drive customer acquisition expansion and retention by developing highperforming sales processes and teams.
- Identify new market opportunities and strategic partnerships to fuel growth.
Marketing Oversight
- Lead the marketing team in developing and executing brand demand generation and content strategies.
- Ensure messaging positioning and campaigns are aligned with market needs and Tailos differentiated value.
- Build and maintain a compelling brand presence across digital channels events and customer touch points.
Customer Success Leadership
- Oversee the customer success function to ensure bestinclass onboarding support and relationship management.
- Drive upsells and expansion across existing accounts and properties identifying growth opportunities through strategic account management.
- Create scalable systems that drive customer satisfaction retention and longterm value realization.
- Build feedback loops to capture customer insights and identify opportunities for improvement.
Distribution & License Partner Management
- Manage relationships with distribution and license partners including Bissell and other strategic collaborators.
- Develop and execute partnership strategies to expand Tailos reach and accelerate growth through indirect channels.
- Oversee partner enablement performance tracking and alignment with Tailos commercial objectives.
Fulfillment & PostSale Operations
- Oversee the fulfillment of robots to customers including coordination of shipping delivery timelines and installation.
- Manage warranty processes product rework and returns to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with operations and manufacturing to ensure product availability.
- Build systems and processes that ensure smooth handoffs from sales to fulfillment and ongoing customer success.
Voice of the Customer & Product Collaboration
- Represent the customer in product strategy discussions ensuring roadmap alignment with user pain points and market demand.
- Partner closely with product and engineering to prioritize features and solutions based on customer impact and business value.
- Translate frontline feedback into actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role within a growthstage B2B technology or robotics company.
- Track record of scaling sales and customer success teams ideally in hardware/software or automation sectors.
- Strong understanding of fullfunnel marketing and GTM strategy.
- Experience managing distribution and license partnerships.
- Experience with fulfillment logistics warranty handling inventory management and customer support.
- Deep commitment to customer success and experience.
- Strategic mindset with handson execution capability.
- Excellent leadership communication and crossfunctional collaboration skills.
