Term: FullTime (37.5 hours per week)
Hours: Monday Friday: 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Wage Range: $25.95 to $29.76 commensurate with education and related experience.
PositionSummary: As a TenantSupport Worker you will provide life skills services to Program Participantswho may struggle with mental health concerns substance misuse challenges andchronic health conditions. Within this role you will support ProgramParticipants to identify individual goals and develop thelife skillsnecessary to live as independently as possible. Service delivery is based on aclientcentered traumainformed and nonjudgmental perspective. Please note this is a petfriendly workplace.

Typical DutiesInclude:
TenantSupport Worker Responsibilities
- Encourage and support Program Participants to live as fully and independently as possible.
- Participatein the assessment goal setting and program planning for Program Participantswhen requested.
- Providesupervision and support to mitigate individual and program risk to ensuresafety comfort and wellness.
- Workclosely with identified community resources for each Program Participant.
- Activelyseek the views of Program Participants and involve them in decisionmaking toimprove their own identity purpose and selfesteem.
- Completewellness checks/room checks when required.
- Assistwith meal planning meal preparation and meal education with ProgramParticipants.
- Whenrequired arrange weekly dropoffs from the local Food Bank.
- Monitorand move along community members who are loitering in and around the property.
- Providecrisis intervention as required including overdose responses by ensuringimmediate access to medical services and completing necessary incident reportswhen required.
AdministrativeResponsibilities
- Conductassessments of potential Program Participants using the BC HousingmandatedVulnerability Assessment Tool (VAT).
- Completeaccurate and uptodate communication/case notes.
- Maintainfiles and statistics as per accreditation standards.
- Completemovein/moveout documentation as required by the Property Services Department.
- Whenrequested be a member of the Societys Performance and Quality Improvement(PQI) team.
- Ensurecompliance with all Society policies and procedures.

Qualificationsand Requirements
- Bachelorof Social Work Human Services Diploma Support Worker/Care Aid Certificate oran equivalent combination of education training and/or lived experience.
- Strongability to recognize and address difficultbehaviors.
- Goodcommunication documentation interpersonal and conflict management skills.
- Ability to workwithin a teambased environment involving multiagency support.
- Strong workingknowledge of community resources.
- Understands andmaintains professional boundaries.
- Valid driverslicense safe driving record and reliable/appropriate transportation withbusiness use coverage.
- Must pass an acceptablecriminal record check for the vulnerable sector.
- Occupational FirstAid Level 1 required.
- Readiness tocomplete inhouse online training within the first month of employment.
- Mental HealthFirst Aid ASIST and Trauma Informed Practice an asset.
