The Demolition Superintendent leads directs and coordinates the work of subcontractors and field teams in demolition projects. This leadership position is responsible for the daytoday management of the demolition site ensuring safe and efficient execution of all field operations while aligning with company objectives.Provide safety leadership by implementing the companys safety program enforcing compliance and monitoring field staff and subcontractors safety performance.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with field staff subcontractors and clients to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Supervise and develop site teams through coaching training and regular feedback ensuring timely performance evaluations and professional growth.
Contribute to the development and execution of the demolition schedule ensuring project milestones are met efficiently.
Administer contracts subcontracts purchase orders and change notices ensuring proper execution of scopes terms and conditions.
Identify and address structural concerns hazardous materials environmental considerations and project challenges working collaboratively with the Project Manager to resolve issues.
Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance ensuring compliance with safety environmental regulations and demolition best practices.
Ensure quality control in demolition work proper material disposal and adherence to environmental and waste management regulations.
Ensure sufficient manpower and equipment availability to achieve safety schedule and quality objectives.
Maintain daily site documentation including field reports safety inspections and schedule updates.
Postsecondary education in construction management engineering or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
10 years of experience as a Superintendent in demolition industrial or infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated leadership and experience managing demolition projects including structural interior and selective demolition.
Trade background in demolition excavation or Gold Seal Certification is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of demolition techniques structural integrity hazardous material handling (e.g. asbestos lead) and site remediation.
Ability to effectively supervise coordinate and schedule demolition activities to ensure projects are completed safely on time and within budget.
Strong problemsolving skills to navigate unexpected site conditions and ensure regulatory compliance.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints structural drawings and environmental reports.
Proficiency in MS Office and construction scheduling software (e.g. MS Project Procore).
