The Airframes Structures & Radars and Materials (ASM) leads in the mechanical hardware design development and production of weapons systems. ASM uses stateoftheart tools processes and technology with capabilities encompassing a broad range of technical disciplines including product engineering manufacturing technical services materials engineering analysis and test rapid hardware development/builds and configuration and data management documentation.

The Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department leads mechanical design development and integration of platform systems. This includes shelter systems hardware integration cable & interconnections as well as facility development and site integration. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design integration and production support.

The ADGE department is looking for a fulltime Principal Mechanical Engineer to work Prime Movers and Support Equipment.

What You Will Do:

• Serve as a primary Raytheon lead and design engineer supporting the customer.
• Provide responses to supplier questions relatedto general design expectations andinterpretation of the relevant specifications.
• Provide guidance on Raytheon expectations for designrigor level of TDP & MDP documentation required typicalanalysis approach and other similar topics.
• Ensure the suppliers are successful incompleting major design and production reviews on schedule.
• Support supplier led PDR CDR including ensuring design is manufacturable for multiple new MEIs
• Connect suppliers with Raytheon subject matter experts asrequired.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines nontechnical disciplines and suppliers to develop robust design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
• Work with limited supervision and meet technical schedule and monetary commitments.
• Participate in design peer reviews and conduct trade studies to promote sound technical decisions.
• Manage a team of engineers (Systems Mechanical Electrical and Test) and working with production and vendors to build producible hardware with an challenging development schedule.
• Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in an engaged team environment.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires Bachelors degree and 8 years of prior engineering experience OR In absence of a degree 12 years of relevant experience is required
• Experience with hardware design or integration and/or designing and/or developing cables or connectors and/or harnesses (preferably for use in Military environments).
• Experience with Prime Movers (Tractors/Trucks and Trailers).
• Experience with Support Equipment Military Shelters/Vans and ISO containers.
• Experience with materials load bearing structures shock/vibration/load analysis
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance and US passport is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• Experience with PDM/Windchill or similar product data management tool.
• Experience with manufacturing systems and processes.
• Reliability or failure analysis experience.
• Experience with external supplier collaboration (incl. Export/Import considerations).
• Ability to work in a team environment and lead small teams to success with technical execution schedule and budget.
• Solid understanding of configuration management practices.
• Experience developing program proposal.
• Proven ability to lead technical solutions to complexuser requirements.
• Experience with Capture Management.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS) an agency of the Department of Defense handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
