Job Description

A thoughtful and inspiring Religious Education Teacher is required to join an Outstanding mixed school in Barnet for a permanent position commencing in September. The successful candidate will guide students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 1116) in exploring diverse religious and ethical perspectives promoting critical thinking and mutual respect.

Responsibilities

  • Plan prepare and deliver engaging Religious Education Teacher lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE Religious Studies examinations ensuring a comprehensive understanding of different faiths and philosophical viewpoints.
  • Cultivate a classroom atmosphere that encourages open discussion and thoughtful analysis of religious and ethical issues.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in Religious Education providing insightful feedback to support their learning and personal development.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Religious Education or Theology.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Religious Education Teacher lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • A strong academic background in religious studies and a genuine interest in exploring different belief systems and ethical frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills capable of leading sensitive and engaging discussions with students from diverse backgrounds.
