They are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Legal & Regulatory. This senior role is responsible for overseeing all legal affairs and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will lead a dedicated legal team manage complex legal matters and guide the company through an everevolving regulatory landscape ensuring robust governance and risk management. Key responsibilities include;
  • Legal Strategy & Governance: Develop and implement the overall legal strategy aligned with the company s business objectives. Provide counsel on corporate governance compliance and risk management initiatives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret telecomspecific legislation and regulations. Ensure proactive compliance with all local national and international regulatory requirements and manage relationships with regulatory bodies.
  • Contract & Transaction Management: Oversee the drafting review and negotiation of key contracts partnerships and vendor agreements. Advise on legal implications related to mergers acquisitions and other strategic transactions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks. Develop policies and procedures to protect the organization s interests while ensuring a balance between innovation and compliance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead mentor and develop a highperforming legal and regulatory team. Foster a collaborative environment and promote continuous learning and professional development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key advisor to executive management and the board of directors on legal and regulatory matters. Represent the company in external forums and maintain strong relationships with external legal counsel and industry associations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution. Admission to practice law in relevant jurisdictions.
  • A minimum of 10 years of legal experience with significant exposure to the telecommunications sector. Proven track record in managing legal teams and handling complex regulatory matters.
  • Deep understanding of telecom regulations contract law corporate governance and risk management. Experience in advising on mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical negotiation and communication skills. Ability to navigate complex legal frameworks and provide clear actionable advice to executive leadership.
