POSITION:Assistant Principal Elementary (location to be determined)
QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate MissouriElementaryAdministrator Certification and minimum 35 years of classroom teaching experience at the elementary level is preferred. Instructional leadership experience is preferred. Applicant must have a masters degree in educational administration. The applicant must demonstrate success working with a diverse student population and expertise in the areas of curriculum leadership with evidence of improving learning outcomes for students. The applicant must possess collaborative leadership skills strong communications skills be an effective problem solver and advocate for a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.

JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE:Assistant Principal Elementary School Level
Assists the principal in implementing the schools educational and administrative programs within the parameters established and approved by the Board of Education.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
EXAMPLE (S) of WORK PERFORMED:
- Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school and implementation of district policy.
- Assists the principal in supervising observing and evaluating the performance of the building staff.
- Assists the principal in planning supervising and evaluating the instructional program.
- Assists in the preparation of teacher schedules student schedules extracurricular activities etc.
- Supervises student discipline/conduct.
- Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and works with parents counselors social workers and other resources to address attendance concerns.
- Supervises teachers and departments as assigned by the principal.
- Assists the principal in administering school operational policies and procedures and in developing the building budget.
- Assists and supervises substitute staff as directed by the principal.
- Prepares reports as directed by the principal.
- Assumes responsibility for the operation maintenance and cleanliness of the school building grounds equipment and materials.
- Serves with parent faculty and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
- Assists in safety inspections safety drill practice activities and emergency procedures.
- Assists the principal in planning implementing and monitoring staff development and growth activities.
- Assist in administration of volunteer and extracurricular activities.
- Assumes responsibility for coordinating transportation custodial cafeteria and other support services.
- Communicates with parents.
- Pursues professional growth and development through staff development opportunities postgraduate education membership and participation in professional organizations and attendance at regional state and national meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *

- Regular attendance is required to provide support to students and staff.
- Requires travel to work sites within a building.
- Meets with students and parents outside the instructional day.
- Reviews and interprets test results and reports to obtain information necessary for decisionmaking planning and management.
- Prepares and maintains written reports.
- Develops information for written reports and correspondence to officials inside and outside the district.
- Communicates student assignments and behavior problems in writing with others.
- Discusses individual student circumstances with teachers principals and parents.
- Conducts individual or group meetings.
- Provides oversight and evaluative supervision of assigned staff.
- Communicates with employees and parents via telephone.
- Communicates student assignments and behavior problems verbally with others.
- Observes and evaluates employee performance.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Vocational Preparation: (Experience)
Minimum 35 years of successful teaching experience at theelementary school level
Three years of successfulleadership experience at theelementary level preferred
Education Preparation: (Formal and Informal)
Masters Degree in Education Administration
Missouri teaching and administrative certification at theelementary schoollevel
