Job Description
The Teachers Retirement System (TRS) a large public pension fund located in the financial district in NYC seeks an intern who will work in the Internal Audit Department for a 10 week summer internship program. Our intern program provides students with an opportunity to learn about the Internal Audit function at TRS.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Internal Audit colleagues to understand the Internal Audit processes IIA Standards business risks and continuously improve the department and achieve department goals;
Contribute ideas to continuously improve audit methodology and procedures including the usage of data analysis/technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency of audit procedures and increase value to the stakeholders;
Shadow and assist auditors within the Internal Audit Department; and
Participate in other internal audit assignments as needed.

Qualifications :
As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program June August each year.
