Purpose Statement
The job of Interventionist is done for the purpose of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for assisting teachers and administration by providing prevention and intervention services to students with behavioral issues; coordinating the BIST models with atrisk youth and proactively address students needs.
This job reports to the Principal and/or Director of Student Support Services.

Skills Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLSare required to perform multiple technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skillbased competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: organizational skills; leadership; intuitive; operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; preparing and maintaining accurate records/case management; group facilitation skills; communication; and plan development.
KNOWLEDGEis required to perform basic math including calculations using fractions percents and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals write documents following prescribed formats and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems. Specific Knowledgebased competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the
job include: BIST model; CPI; physical and emotional development of children and adolescents; and mental health issues.
ABILITYis required to schedule a number of activities meetings and/or events; gather and/or collate data; and use basic jobrelated equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with similar types of data; and utilize specific jobrelated equipment. Problemsolving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problemsolving with data may require independent interpretation and problemsolving with equipment is limited. Specific Ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: remaining calm in a crisis; adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups in a nonjudgmental manner; working flexible hours; displaying patience and a sense of humor; understanding verbal input and responding quickly; and maintaining confidentiality.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading guiding and/or coordinating others; utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the jobs functions. There is some opportunity to impact the organizations services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling some stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20 sitting 50 walking and 30 standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment..
Experience:Job related experience is required.
Education:Targeted job related education with study in jobrelated area.
