Job Description

Position Summary:
Franklin Pierce University invites applications for the Associate Director of Housing Operations position. This is a fulltime yearround livein position responsible for overseeing all aspects of housing operations including assignments occupancy management damage assessment and billing facilities coordination capital improvement and long term planning strategies and summer conference and event housing. The Associate Director plays a key role in ensuring a seamless and studentcentered housing experience while supporting the mission of Residential Life & Community Standards.

This role manages housing assignments facilities services management billing and appeals processes occupancy management and tracking movein and moveout processes housing accommodations key management fire safety inspections health and safety inspections and summer conference housing while ensuring efficient and studentcentered housing operations. The Associate Director develops transparent and clear systems that support student accountability life skills development and equitable access to housing resources.


The ideal candidate will be an expert in housing technology software particularly eRezLife and will serve as a key collaborator with Facilities Athletics Student Success Disability Services Student Financial Services Information Technology and other campus partners to ensure smooth housing operations. This position will actively contribute to the development of both undergraduate housing options and graduate student housing options on FPUs Rindge campus and stay informed on current trends in residence hall development to help shape the universitys longterm housing strategy. The Associate Director is responsible for collateral projects and assignments related to fire safety health and safety inspections capital improvement management and studentcentered services within the residence halls.

Typical Schedule:

This is a 12month exempt livein position designed to provide flexibility and worklife balance while supporting our vibrant residential community. Typical office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM with participation in an Administrator oncall duty rotation. Given the dynamic nature of campus life on a small residential campus occasional early mornings evenings and weekends may be required to meet student and departmental needs.

Position Requirements

    • Masters degree in Higher Education Student Affairs Business Student Development or a related field.
    • 35 years of experience in college residential life operations professional staff supervision as well as experiences leading housing operations and engagement with faculty staff and students.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills interpersonal comfortability and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Working knowledge of student development theories and best practices in a residential setting.
    • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution student support and learning outcomes.
    • Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Excel Outlook housing management systems (eRezLife preferred).
    • Experience with data management reconciliation and security ensuring accurate housing records and reporting.
    • Commitment to fostering an inclusive diverse and equitable residential community.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
    • Possesses a valid drivers license for jobrelated responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of previous experience and expertise in working with eRezLife or similar housing management systems.
  • 5 years of professional staff supervision and experience working closely with paraprofessional staff members within a Residential Life office.
  • 5 years serving in a professional staff duty rotation and/or transferable crisis response team
  • 3 years of serving as a conduct officer a plus.
  • Residential life capital improvement facilities services assessment and longterm planning experiences.
  • Expertise in development of summer housing summer conferences and graduate housing development and implementation.
  • Enthusiasm for working with NCAA Division II Athletics.
  • A sense of humor.
