The Coordinator of Digital Learning acts as a visionary leader instructional coach technology advocate and collaborative partner to drive the effective and equitable integration of digital learning to enhance teaching and transform student outcomes. They need a strong understanding of both pedagogy and technology excellent communication and collaboration skills and a passion for innovation in education.

  • Collaborate with district leaders principals and teachers to update the districts vision and strategic plan for digital learning that aligns with the districts overall goals.
  • Designs develops and delivers highquality professional learning opportunities for teachers administrators and staff on effective technology integration digital tools and online teaching strategies.
  • Provides 1:1 training and troubleshooting as needed per tech ticket system and admin requests
  • Continuously researches and evaluates emerging technologies digital learning pedagogies and best practices to inform the districts strategy and ensure it remains innovative and effective including AI.
  • Promotes and shares best practices in digital learning across the district fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluates curates and creates highquality digital learning resources tools and content that are aligned with curriculum standards and meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Creates and maintains a robust bank of training resources.
  • Extends support to school libraries as needed.
  • Collaborates with curriculum directors instructional coaches and teachers to identify opportunities for meaningful technology integration that enhances curriculum delivery student engagement and learning outcomes across all subject areas.
  • Provides technical support and configuration for key assessment and teaching & learning platforms.
  • Performs training and assists with onboarding for new hires.
  • Attends Academics Team meetings to increase efficiency through crossdepartment collaboration.
  • Contributes to the Library & Digital Learning Specialist job alike meetings

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 35 years of digital learning experience preferably in an urban public school setting
  • Demonstrated aptitude and competence for completing assigned responsibilities with a high level of independence and accuracy while keeping supervisors and team members appropriately informed and involved
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment
  • Current and appropriate Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure in Instructional Technology or Digital Literacy/Computer Science is a plus
  • Position requires travel between schools
  • Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus
  • Bilingual candidates and candidates of color strongly encouraged to apply
  • Current authorization to work in the United States

Work Year: Teachers in Salem Public Schools work a 185 day school year 180 student contact days plus 5 professional development days. Please click here to view the 202526 district and/or school calendars.

Salary: Teacher salaries in the Salem Public Schools are determined by the Salem Teachers Union collective bargaining agreement (see new 202427 language with updated salary information here.
