Position
The claims department has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a Commercial Claims Assistant. This is a fulltime nonexempt position that works locally out of WCFs Sandy Utah headquarters. This posting is open to internal and external candidates.
Responsibilities
- Review and process incoming claims ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Provide prompt and courteous telephone coverage making every effort to assist the caller.
- Support adjusters by making initial contact and in certain cases investigate claims by contacting claimants witnesses and medical professionals to take initial statements or gather necessary information.
- Manage minor claims ensuring they are resolved promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate records of all claims activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of claims processes and procedures.
- Coordinate with repair and professionals to obtain estimates and ensure quality repairs.
- Direct complex claims to the appropriate claims adjuster.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in working with internal and external contacts.
Qualifications
The most qualified candidate will have:
- At least two years of customer service experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software applications.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to produce accurate work consistently.
- High school diploma: associates degree preferred.

Internal candidates should have acceptable job performance 6 months in their current position and must notify their current supervisor that they have applied for the position.
