Department Information

The University vision is to establish Colorado State University Pueblo as the peoples university of the southwest United States by 2028.

To support the University vision the Division of Enrollment Management and Extended Studies will work creatively and diligently to attain optimal enrollments enhance student development and success and support the academic units and overall mission of the institution with the purpose of ensuring seamless systems and positive experiences for our students.

The Office of Admissions at Colorado State University Pueblo will support the University vision and enrollment goals by providing intentional professional and attentive service to facilitate recruitment and admission with the purpose of attaining students from a wide range of backgrounds who are wellsuited to the University.

Description of Job

The University Tracks Center Coordinator is an integral member of the admissions team and will be at the forefront of the larger University effort to create a universitygoing culture in Southern Colorado. The coordinator will work primarily with students parents and school personnel in Pueblo County. An office space will be provided in at least one of the schools.

This fulltime administrative professional position is a representative for CSU Pueblo and serves as a resource for general fouryear college planning inquiries and assistance within the assigned district. Specific duties include but are not limited to: provide counseling on the CSU Pueblo admissions and enrollment process; provide information regarding fouryear college planning (general); provide financial aid and scholarship expertise (general); serve as a resource for college application and essay assistance (general); serve as a liaison between district staff and CSU Pueblo offices including concurrent enrollment and TRIO programs; develop and facilitate districtwide and schoolspecific programs for students and families; provide backup coverage for recruitment activities targeted toward district students; maintain positive relationships with secondary school personnel; and assist in the development of recruitment plans and publications.


Primary Duties:

  • Provides information and assistance for general fouryear college planning including counseling on admissions processes discussing the benefits of a fouryear education and answering specific questions related to going to college. Assists with the completion of college applications and essays and helps students with other tasks related to the college search process as needed. Coordinates with teachers to supplement class lessons with information about college preparation as needed. Collects and maintains student data interactions and activities in a database system (currently Technolutions Slate CRM) and reports on program goals and objectives.
  • Works with district staff and University departments to become knowledgeable of pertinent financial aid and scholarship details both general and specific to CSU Pueblo. Provides financial aid and scholarship expertise to students their families and district staff.
  • Serves as a liaison between district and school staff and CSU Pueblo departments including the Offices of Admissions Student Financial Services and Extended Studies. Assists students with applications for programs such as Concurrent Enrollment Senior to Sophomore and TRiO programs. Assists with the coordination of visits from CSU Pueblo stakeholders (faculty staff students alumni etc. to high school classrooms and of group visits to the CSU Pueblo campus.
  • Emphasizes to all students specific CSU Pueblo admission requirements academic programs special services scholarships and financial aid housing etc. Encourages and facilitates prospective students visiting the CSU Pueblo campus and applying for admission. Provides a personal connection to the University for prospective students by reaching out to students on an individual level (as appropriate) and providing appropriate followup throughout the recruitment cycle.
  • Develops and facilitates districtwide and schoolspecific events and programs for students and families including but not limited to financial aid and scholarship nights application days and departmental programming. Gets involved with and attends schoolsponsored events both during and after school including sporting events assemblies cultural and club events and others.
  • Works to create and maintain a positive working relationship with high school counselors within assigned district. Attends staff meetings at both CSU Pueblo and the district schools as required. Conducts update sessions with high school counselors; collaborate with school personnel with to meet with and help students who are considering CSU Pueblo complete next steps.
  • Assists with the firstyear student recruitment planning process including attending all Discover Days and other events and participating in new first year student registration.
  • Contributes to additional functions in the Admissions Office and the Visitor Center and assists in other aspects for recruitment as required.

  • Bachelors degree from regionally accredited institution
  • Valid unrestricted drivers license
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Willing and able to work evenings and weekends as needed to fulfill position duties

  • Willing and able to rotate work locations regularly to serve all students within assigned
  • district
  • Experience in an activity or position that required excellent verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting students from varied backgrounds who require additional resources to thrive in college
  • Experience in a position where it was necessary to work independently and selfmotivate
  • Experience utilizing database systems to maintain and report information
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution in marketing communications or related field
  • Graduate of CSUPueblo
  • Personable and approachable to prospective students/parents.
  • Ability to multitask prioritize and followup in a timely manner
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience in college admissions college counseling visitors center or comparable positions
