Intensive Housing Support Worker Step Forward

Job type: Permanent/ Full Time

Salary: 30700 Per Annum

Hours: 35 (plus 5 hours paid lunch breaks)

Location: London East & South East

Who are we looking for

A Housing Support Worker toWork as part of a team managing a portfolio of properties and tenancies across a designated service provides housingrelated support tovulnerable people from 18years up to 75years who have been sleeping rough orwho are at risk of rough sleeping. The aim is to support people to achieveindependence and move on to unsupported or more appropriate accommodation. Weoffer support with maintaining tenancies and wraparound support based on apersons need

Key responsibilities include:


Building supportive trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere.

Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities.

Supporting tenants to set personalised goals in the form of a Support Plan.

Conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals.

Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with tenants within an attitude of positive risk taking.

Providing support with daily living activities including practical assistance to support independent living e.g. budgeting cooking community activities.

Supporting tenants to maintain a healthy environment and where appropriate assisting them to clean their accommodation and maintain good personal hygiene.

Assisting in the recording and reporting of incidents.

Managing referrals completing assessments and obtaining and maintaining all relevant paperwork.

Maximising referrals to ensure service capacity.

Developing productive relationships with partner organisations to improve service outcomes.

Adhering to lone working protocols and maintaining high levels of awareness in relation to the health and safety of yourself and colleagues.

Involving tenants in the design development and delivery of the service.

Empowering tenants to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to.

Encouraging and enabling tenants to pay their rent and avoid personal debt.

Ensuring Nacros Health and Safety policies and local protocols are adhered to at all times e.g. fire risk assessments fire alarm checks etc.

Being responsible for the handover of key information between shifts.

Adhering to all other Nacros policies and procedures.

Engaging in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills.

Undertaking any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as assigned by the Senior worker / Service Lead.

Duties may vary from time to time within the broad remit of your role and grade. You are required to undertake any such reasonable and appropriate duties.
