The school serves more than 1200 students in grades PreK12. Founded in 1759 GA is Americas oldest nonsectarian day school with rich traditions and a strong commitment to ongoing innovation of curricular and pedagogical practices. We are seeking qualified candidates for the Assistant Director of College Counseling position beginning August 2025. This is a 10month position which offers an excellent array of benefits and a highly competitive salary. The Assistant Director will be part of a highly experienced and collaborative team of four fulltime college Purpose: The Assistant Director assists the Associate and Director of College Counseling with all operations of the office works closely with students and parents is responsible for guiding approximately 3035 students per grades ten through twelfth through the college search and application processes serves as an academic advisor and either teaches one course a year or serves in an additional role such as testing coordinator or admission :Writing recommendations for approximately 1/5 of each graduating classTeaching 2 sections of College Seminar for JuniorsHelping students identify an initial college list and appropriate college matches beginning in the sophomore yearPartnering and communicating with parents to ensure a thoughtful college search for studentsPresenting at grade level and other parent meetingsEstablishing relationships with college and university representatives through meetings with college representatives who visit GA visiting college campuses and attending regional and national for seniors in the admission utilizing the resources of Naviance and College Kickstart to facilitate the college search and application and disseminating scholarship and summer program divisional and schoolwide initiatives through committee work as appropriateParticipating in faculty and staff as an advisor in one of seven Houses. Contributing to the extracurricular life of the school through coaching or serving as advisor to a club or must have at least onethree years of experience working in either college counseling at an independent school or in selective college admissions. Exceptional written and oral communication skills should be partnered with an energetic and friendly personality to connect with students and parents. Candidates should also possess excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and respond timely to families. Candidates will need to both work autonomously with their caseload and work with a closeknit highly collaborative team.
