By ensuring Connections staff deliver highquality integrated support the Director plays a vital role in fostering an advising environment that holistically promotes both academic success and career readiness for TCA students empowering students to positively impact a world full of a staff that serves 9th12th grade students and communicates pertinent information that will assist students toward graduation and in their postsecondary planning and decisionmaking processes. The Classical Academy reserves the right to modify or change the duties or essential functions of this job at any JOB FUNCTIONS:Design develop review and integrate a comprehensive college and career program serving 9th12th graders and their families to include selfdiscovery postsecondary options college lists and application course selection career planning scholarships testing and related topicsManage a caseload of students providing strategies advice assistance and guidance to those students and their families throughout the research and application process and making the best individualized choice for career or college after TCA keeping students and families informed of the everchanging landscape of the future of work and college admission processManage applications for college career scholarship and other opportunities including but not limited to letters of recommendation transcripts school reports curriculum reviews and school profilesDevise implement and plan career and college guidance events and programs for students and familiesDirect and monitor the concurrent enrollment programConsolidate general iCAP regulations into a gradelevelspecific curriculum for junior high and high schoolDevelop an assignmentbased iCAP curriculum to be taught within 7th and 8thgrade computer classesCoordinate a plan and train secondary staff on the iCAP curriculum small group integration and resourcesPrepare and present sessions and special events for parents and students regarding college planning career planning and testing resultsCollaborate with staff parents students college admission staff and other available resources to support students postsecondary plansBuild and foster relationships with admission officers across the countryContinual professional development and networking with college and career staff at a local state and national levelStructure and lead an annual review of Connections Curriculum and revise a 25year plan accordingly to include a calendar for the next yearCollaborate with Registrar regarding policies and procedures related to transcripts grading and creditsContributing team member on the district task force and other committees related to Connections Center resourcesCreate and submit materials to colleges by deadlines in support of college mutually beneficial working relationships with college admissions professionals and local area college counseling and propose enhancements to policies programs and procedures to improve the effectiveness of the secondary program college and career connections center transcripts and other related programsOversee the coordination and of PSAT/NMSQT AP and WorkKeys examsDesign and maintain applicable grade level 912 specific planning milestonesInitiate and maintain the procedure for defining tracking and reporting the community service graduation requirement.
