Your Role
An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Holy Spirit College in the position of Pastoral Support Officer. This is a termtime continuing position for 25hpw commencing as soon as possible or as negotiated with the successful applicant.
The Pastoral Support Officer is designed to support the pastoral care and student wellbeing programs at the College. As part of your role you will assist with delivery of programs which aim to promote emotional resilience positive relationships and a sense of community.
Other duties include:
- Working collaboratively with members of the Welfare Team in monitoring the wellbeing of students.
- Participate in the provision of pastoral care and support of students.
- Assist with the development and facilitation of small group programs at the College.

About you
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate:
- Tolerance maturity patience and a capacity for selforganisation.
- An ability to respond and adapt whilst operating in an environment which is often demanding and busy
- Effective communication skills in order to speak with staff students parents and visitors to the College
- A capacity for tact and discretion and an ability to maintain confidentiality
The successful applicant will hold a Certificate IV in Youth Work or Certificate IV in Pastoral Care or an equivalent qualification (as determined by the College).

Mandatory Requirements
- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
