Description of Position
The Childrens Summer Support Program offers support to children 412 years of age who have an intellectual disability while they participate in a day camp program facilitating their inclusion into the setting. Children attend programs throughout Mississauga operated by the City of Mississaugas Recreation & Parks Division and other day camps in Mississauga.
$20.00 per hour up to 42 hours per week up to 9 weeks

Description of Duties
Summer staff provide direct support on an individual basis to children in a day camp setting. Summer staff also have some recordkeeping responsibilities must attend weekly team meetings and promote the inclusion of children into day camp programs. Staff must be comfortable providing personal care support participating in all activities with the children including swimming and be physically fit to perform the essential duties of the job including performing lifts and transfers as necessary.
Qualifications
Developmental Services Worker Diploma or enrolled and actively pursuing this diploma
Have experience working or volunteering with people who have an intellectual disability
Equivalency
Social Services Worker Diploma Child and Youth Worker Diploma or a university degree in a related discipline
Have experience working or volunteering with people who have an intellectual disability
Asset
Fluent in French
Aptitude to learn quickly and independently
Good verbal and written communication skills
Positive attitude along with excellent teamwork
