General Summary:

Vertex is seeking an experienced technology leader to lead the strategy planning and delivery to support launch of new treatment options across the kidney disease and Cystic Fibrosis disease areas.

The Business Engagement Lead will partner with NA commercial organizations to create launch plan support GTM strategy and deliver technical solutions that meet the business needs. This role will work directly with the business partners operations lead and DTE stakeholders to deliver digital capabilities identifying solutions with digital first approach and find synergies across rare diseases Kidney and CF BU

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key business stakeholders to understand business strategy and prioritize to set vision and goals for technology roadmap aligned to CF/Kidney area objectives
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders become a trusted partner and have an ongoing significant impact towards meeting strategic business goals with technology
  • Experience in leading implementation of complex patient services solutions for rare diseases
  • Define and lead portfolio of projects programs releases and system enhancements ensuring quality and timeliness of delivery while remaining within allocated budget limits
  • Proactively identify gaps and forwardlooking opportunities in current technologies and potential business process improvements in pursuit of driving efficiencies and meet strategic business goals
  • Work closely with DTE Compliance Internal Audit and Quality Assurance groups as needed to ensure compliance with GxP SarbanesOxley (SOX) and other key regulations as well as our DTE system lifecycle and change management requirements
  • Develop budget for a program or department.
  • Technology Governance Ensure accountability of the technology program and guiding the team tracking progress and calculate ROI for programs
  • Risk Management proactively identifying risk and create a mitigation plan
  • Resource Management assignment of team members to specific tasks allocation management
  • Budget management plan and manage financial resources for DTE expenses
  • Technology Innovation: Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in Pharma product launches preparation field enablement with proven ability to stay informed on industry trends across various technology
  • Technology Strategy: Create multiyear plans that guide technology investment to longer term achieve business goals
  • Manage relationships with strategic software vendors and service providers
  • As a people manager within the organization has financial accountabilities and human resource responsibilities for assigned staff

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 810 years experience working in delivering technology programs with at least 68 years of industry experience
  • Experience in commercial launch readiness supporting launch planning across multiple systems including CRM Digital Customer Engagement Reporting & Analytics and Digital Marketing etc.
  • Experience in leading implementation of complex patient services solutions for rare diseases
  • Able to translate broad business strategies and functional priorities into effective operational goals and objectives; able to actively participate in strategic planning for the function
  • Results oriented leader with a proven track record of ontime project delivery for large crossfunctional and complex projects with global stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to present in a clear and concise manner to all audiences
  • Exceptional analytical quantitative problemsolving and prioritization skills including the development of business cases/ value propositions
  • Substantial program/ project management demand management resource management and system life cycle expertise

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required (preferably in technology discipline) Advanced degree preferred.

Pay Range:

$158800 $238100

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors including skills competencies experience and other jobrelated factors permitted by law.
