Location

Come and join our team at this 605room convention center hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Our luxury hotel is located next to the Paycom Center(OKC Thunder) the Oklahoma Convention Center and across the street from the 70acre Scissortail Park.

The property includes an allday dining outlet (Seltzers Modern Diner) an entertainment sports bar (OKC Tap House) specialty restaurant (Bobs Steak & Chop House) coffee shop (Park Grounds) and a retail outlet (RareBird Gift Shop). Additionally guests can enjoy a Mokara Spa fitness center and a rooftop pool and bar (CatBird Seat) complete with a fire pit outdoor lawn and cabanas. The hotel offers 76000 square feet of meeting and event space inclusive of a 20000 square foot ballroom 10000 square foot ballroom and a 4200 square foot outdoor prefunction space that overlooks the park.

Job Description

Omni Oklahoma City Hotelis seeking an experienced and team orientedBanquet Captainto join the opening team of this brand new upscale hotel. The Banquet Captain supervises the floor and banquet service staff to coordinate the of events and exceed guest expectations. This role leads our banquet servers and bartenders and makes sure food is presented neatly served on time and that all functions are coordinated properly.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for controlling all aspects in the of banquet function.
  • Effectively supervise the Banquet staff during all food and beverage service.
  • Coordinating every aspect of the Banquet staff during all food and beverage service.
  • Assist the Banquet Manager in the complete operation of the Banquet Department.
  • Responsible for adhering to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for adhering to all liquor liability laws.
  • Must assist/conduct all designated staff/prefunction meetings.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.
  • Must follow all details as described on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Must be able to set tables to specifications carry trays and have excellent customer service experience.
  • Complete banquet consumption sheets as designated by the Director of Banquets.
  • Attend department meetings and other company required trainings.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous banquet leadership experience required 34 years of experience in a fourstar/fourdiamond hotel or resort is strongly preferred.
  • Must have and maintain current TIPS ServSafe or equivalent alcohol training and food handler training.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and evenings.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and portray a friendly demeanor in a fastpaced environment.
  • Must consistently demonstrate a teamworkoriented and positive attitude.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and stand and walk for long periods of time including the duration of a full shift.
  • Must be able to walk push pull stoop bend and lift items of moderate weight.
