Ready to shape the future of public safety communications As the Program Communications Coordinator at the Multnomah County Sheriffs Office (MCSO) youll be at the forefront of engaging with the community building trust and keeping the public informed. From crafting compelling public safety campaigns to managing social media video content and digital strategy youll play a key role in how MCSO communicates its mission values news and priorities. This is more than a content roleits a chance to directly influence how MCSO connects informs and engages with the people we serve.

Your role: As the Program Communications Coordinator you will develop and manage external communications strategies to amplify agency initiatives provide timely safety updates and boost engagement across platforms. Youll create meaningful contentfrom social media to newsletters to videosthat reflects MCSOs mission and resonates with the communities we serve. Youll also track analytics manage our website support media relations and collaborate with partners across sectors.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This recruitment may be used to fill fulltime parttime temporary limitedduration and oncall positions.

Pay Range: $41.50 $51.03 hourly

Type of Position: Hourly overtime eligible represented by the AFSCME Local 88 union.
Schedule: Monday Friday day shift schedule with the occasional need to work outside standard work hours with advance notice given.

Location: This position works onsite at the Multnomah Building 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. Suite 350. Opportunity for hybrid telework 12 days per week) will be evaluated around six months after hire.

Equal Pay: Please be advised that the pay range listed for this position is intended to provide general guidance on the earning potential for the role. However actual compensation will be determined in accordance with the Oregon Equal Pay Law and will take into account factors such as the candidates relevant experience and education. Candidates should expect that initial offers will be made within the listed pay range and may not be at or near the top of the range.

Serving the Public Even During Disasters

Every day Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather natural disaster or other types of community emergency response. During these emergency responses while typically there begins with a call for volunteers county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities.
