The Civil Engineer must be able to participate with multidisciplined engineering teams in the completion of projects in a timely manner and within budgets. Local regional and national travel for the purposes of documenting existing conditions is an applicable part of the job.SITE CIVIL ENGINEER DETAILS:Plan organize and manage mediumscale engineering projectsPerform engineering design and calculationsAnalyze situations identify problems and recommend solutionsPrepare comprehensive reports and correspondenceAssist with managing projects from startup to completionInteract professionally with clientsCommunicate effectively orally and in writingRead analyze and interpret engineering plans and specification for largescale site projectsOversee and administer design procurement and construction phases of projectAssists with developing resourceloaded work plans for forecasting budget and managing projectsAssists with negotiating consultant and equipment contracts including contract changes; oversees change control processExperience with federal projects special provisions and specificationsDirects preparation of feasibility and tradeoff studies engineering reports and economic analysisAdministers and monitors work and contracts for compliance with budget schedule standards and objectivesAssists with planning budget and staffing needs and assists in preparing department and projects budgetsAssists with preparing and presenting reports to management staff clients and government officialsFacilitates resolution of design construction third party and operations problemsRecommends design activity improvements for efficiency compliance and costeffectivenessParticipates in the preparation of contract frontend documentsReviews consultants plans and specifications for technical adequacy and completenessSITE CIVIL ENGINEER BACKGROUND:Education: Bachelors Degree in EngineeringExperience: 510 years of civil design
Must have NCEES certification
CFM certification is a plus
Experience in Water Wastewater Gas Electric and Hydraulics projects
Familiarity with current design trendsFamiliarity with industry standards for illustration of civil and designAbility to communicate well both verbally and in writingAbility to prepare proposals for projects including estimating feesAbility to accommodate overnight travel by car and by airAbility to communicate well with clients and potential clientsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D softwareFluent in Microsoft Office and other standard software applications
