Job Summary:

The General Laborer position will be primarily but not exclusively supporting yard operations at our PVC facility. This position reports to the Yard Supervisor.

This is a fulltime position with rotating 12hr shifts (continental) with a proposed hourly pay wage of $28.18/hour. Night Shift Premium while working your Night Shift Rotation 6



Requirements

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Work with production plant to stage regrind from yard to plant
  • Handle transport of small to large PVC pipe in a safe manner
  • Ability to transport/store regrind bags in a safe manner
  • Maintain yard organization and cleanliness
  • Sort waste products from plant for recycle
  • Assist with inventory counts monthly
  • Assist in rework or recrating s or good production
  • Assist in gasket area and organize
  • Fix bags and rebag materials
  • Safely load and unload trucks
  • Repackaging of super sacks for outbound shipment
  • Assist with general housekeeping in the yard and plant
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or Equivalent
  • Minimum 2000hrs operating forklift with a Valid Forklift Operating License
  • Minimum 2000hrs operating skid steer
  • Proven ability to follow safety policies and procedures
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a fastpaced environment and multitask effectively
  • Have a basic understanding of the MES System and extrusion process
  • Experience with Infoflo an asset
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Able to safely operate cranes forklifts and other equipment
  • Effective Team Player
  • Ability to work independently

Working Conditions:

  • Must use applicable PPE in shop to include but not limited to hearing/eye protection safety shoes
  • Requires a high degree of mobility and involves considerable routine walking standing for long periods reaching twisting bending climbing and lifting to 35lbs frequently
  • Fastpaced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required.
  • Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat cold dust noise levels and the use of sharp tools.
