Job Description
Overview
The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Specialist is responsible for providing direct patient care in the Cardiac Cath lab Peripheral Vascular Lab Cath Lab Holding Room and the Electrophysiology Lab performing and functioning as a member of a multidisciplinary team. In addition this role is expected to function and provide high quality safe culturally competent costeffective patient care in all areas of operations by means of assessment planning evaluation and intervention/follow up.
Responsibilities
Prepares specialized equipment and monitors patients during procedures ensuring safety and optimal outcomes.
Maintains a safe environment adheres to universal precautions and utilizes personal protective equipment to minimize risks and ensure the wellbeing of patients and staff.
Collaborates with the healthcare team including physicians and technicians to support smooth and successful procedures.
Provides patient education and support before during and after cardiac cath lab procedures.
Adheres to professional advancement program requirements engages in ongoing education and mentors others to promote professional growth and development to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field leading to improved patient care and clinical expertise.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred: Cardiac specialty experience.
BLS (CPR)American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Radiology Technologist ARRT Radiology Technologist registry
OR
Respiratory Therapist licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) as an RRT
AND
credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as an RRT. Cardiovascular Technology Program Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular Program
OR
Paramedic North Carolina EMTP credentialing/accreditation and/or Paramedic Associate Degree from a appropriately recognized Paramedic program.
Graduates from a Cardiovascular Program are required to complete RCIS certification within 3 months of employment.
