What We Want
Manager Athletics Special Events is responsible for assisting the Director of Special Events with events and activities within the Special Events Department held at Kyle Field and other athletic venue and spaces. Responsible for training scheduling and supervising Event Coordinator and Tour as onsite manager during events; to include overseeing setup and tear down. Responsible for supporting and implementing the onestop approach to event planning.

Salary: 6065k (Commensurate based on selected candidates experience).

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years experience in event coordination or event management.
Preferred Education:
Masters degree.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills including the ability to motivate others.
Must have strong serviceoriented attitude and excellent oral/written communication skills.
Must have strong work ethic be reliable and flexible.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Event Management and Visio or AutoCAD skills.
Responsibilities
EVENTS: Under direction of the Director of Special Events oversees the Event Coordinators and Tour Guides on dayofevent responsibilities for selected events. Assists the director with event related items. Meets with clients to gather information to prepare layouts estimates and event agreements. Liaises client with 3rd party vendors (caterer parking ushers security fire & life safety business office etc.. Oversees event setups and breakdowns. Posts event work to include soliciting event evaluations from clients and invoicing. Assists in recruiting training and scheduling event staff. Meets with prospective clients to facilitate tours.
EVENT LIAISON: Responsible for being first point of contact for all clients interested in booking an event. Serves as administrative liaison to clients and Athletics Facilities staff Levy SSC staff Transportation Services UPD and other campus partners concerning all preevent aspects including information on availability room setup/arena configuration catering alcohol parking and security. Schedules all outside vendors.
ADMINISTRATION:Conducts site visits and meets with clients and provides client with cost estimates and event agreements. Coordinates postevent aspects for clients including client surveys invoicing and cleanup.
SOCIAL MEDIA / MARKETING:Establishes a social media presence for the Special Events Department to include updating website and creating other social media platforms for the department to showcase what the Special Events Department has to offer. Assists in marketing premier venues to include iconic Kyle Field through printed literature and web page.
TRAINING:Trains and supervises parttime wage employee:event coordinators tour guides and other seasonal staff. Develops programs to recruit students as parttime employees.
COMPLIANCE:Complies with all industry safety and best practice standards for the of hosted events. Compliance is a shared responsibility. Ensures compliance with all safety regulations by coordinating with local Fire Police and Public Safety departments prior to events. Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA Conference and University rules and regulations. Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations concerning studentathletes: conduct appearance punctuality and other areas as deemed appropriate. Assures and maintains the integrity of the Athletics Department and Texas A&M University in all forms of communication and personal contacts.
EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED: 20/ Guest Services Personnel (event coordinators tour guides and other seasonal staff) who work directly for the department. 6/ Student Workers on an as needed basis for related venue work.
