Location: Leicester
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Fulltime Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS (Main or Upper Pay Scale depending on experience)

As an experienced Art Teacher youll be joining a collaborative and supportive team that values innovative teaching and meaningful student engagement.

We are looking for someone who can take on departmental responsibilities contribute to curriculum development and mentor less experienced colleagues while continuing to deliver highquality engaging lessons.

About the Role
As an experienced Art Teacher your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching Art and Design across Key Stages 3 4 and 5 adapting content for a wide range of abilities.

  • Leading by example in delivering dynamic and technically skilled lessons using media such as painting printmaking sculpture and digital platforms.

  • Supporting the Head of Department in shaping curriculum development and assessment practices.

  • Mentoring early career Art Teachers and sharing best practices within the department.

  • Driving student progress and fostering a culture of creativity and ambition in the classroom.

  • Organising and contributing to extracurricular activities such as exhibitions trips and community arts projects.

What Were Looking For
We welcome applications from experienced Art Teachers who:

  • Hold QTS and have a proven track record of successful teaching in secondary education.

  • Are confident in delivering outstanding lessons across all key stages including at GCSE and ALevel.

  • Have a deep understanding of how to support students technical and conceptual development.

  • Bring a collaborative spirit and a desire to lead and innovate within the department.

  • Are passionate about the value of arts education and the role of an Art Teacher in developing confident expressive learners.
