Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Heath Director the Health & Healing Administrator is responsible for providing the overall leadership direction and management for the planning development implementation and administration of the Pqusnalcw Health Center (PHC) and Lilwat Health and Healing Center (LHH) teams programs and services.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
Assist the Health Director in creating and maintaining partnerships with internal partners including leadership administration Lilwat staff and contractors and community. Provide mentorship and structure to the Lilwat Health & Healing management team to progress department and community goals.
Leadership:
Oversees the daytoday operation of Maternal Child Health Patient Travel Assisting Living Pqusnalcw Health Center and Lilwat Health and Healing Center Service Delivery Financial Management and Reporting.
Ensures strong management of Programs & Services through quality monitoring and improvement practices.
Identifies and understands emerging issues and advocates for resolution at the appropriate tables.
Assists and advises Managers/Program Leads with time management employee supervision coaching evaluation holiday and sick time approvals.
Coordinates and oversees contracted healthcare providers operating out of PHC and LHH.
Encourages succession planning and supports the development of such plans.
Financial Management:
In compliance with the Lilwat Nation Finance Policy manages relevant program budgets including approving annual program budgets authorizing expenditures and monitoring income and expenditures.
Assist PHC & LHH managers in developing and managing budgets and reports to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
Ensures reporting to funders is completed and submitted as required.
Communication
Ensures effective communication at all levels within the LHH organization and between LHH and the Nation administration leadership and the community.
Assist Health Director with reviewing reports to leadership and the community prior to release.
Develops and maintains effective communication with internal & external partners.
Assist in the planning and facilitation of weekly managers meetings as well as monthly all staff meetings.
Other Duties
Promotes individual and family independence through a strengthbased approach to services.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary in the performance of the position and as assigned by the Health Director.
Experience and Attributes:
University degree or an equivalent combination of education training and experience in Health Services Social Services First Nations Studies Leadership Business Administration or other relevant studies.
Extensive experience in First Nations communities in a leadership role
Strong knowledge and awareness of current health trends and future directions.
Willingness to learn the Lilwat traditions culture and protocols.
Proven track record of strong administration skills leadership skills and providing mentorship.
Previous experience with budgeting reporting and employee relations management.
Knowledge of First Nations issues families family systems and culturally safe practices
Training in Stress Management Time Management Assertiveness Strategic Planning Trauma Informed Care and Integrated Case Management
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
Strong organizational skills meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.
Ability to meet deadlines prioritizes assignments manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word Outlook Excel and PowerPoint.
Motivated selfstarter and with strong interpersonal skills.
Highly professional in all aspects of business presentation and interaction with all stakeholders clients and Members.
