Objectives: Provide strategic technology consultation guidance and leadership (where appropriate) for major business/domain initiatives. Develop and leads plans necessary to deliver the technology capabilities needed to enable business objectives. Provides leadership and oversight of programs/projects encompassing the areas of planning procurement provision delivery management maintenance and effective business use of information systems for multiple business areas. Analyzes largescale and highly complex business processes; elicits analyzes and documents business requirements; identifies creates proposals and presents alternative solutions assesses feasibility and makes recommendations typically seeking to exploit and leverage new or existing IT technology components.; manages change; and leads coordinates / performs testing verification and validation of requirements. Significant area of focus on the heavily regulated Complaints Management domain for life sciences companies.
Responsibilities
- Works with senior business unit clients to understand specific business processes business drivers and business strategy across multiple functions; Personally or through indirect team management identifies prioritizes and communicates resulting needs and opportunities for business process improvement that can be enabled via technology; Uses technical consulting skills and expertise to translate business requirements to BTS and functional requirements to the domain. Provides expert guidance on Complaints Management processes and technologies to realize strategic value for Quality Organization.
- Proactively investigates and understands capabilities of existing systems and technologies already in use across the business area and similar and interconnected business areas in AbbVie; Investigates emerging internal and external technologies and actively connects these capabilities to proactively address business needs. Directly interacts with Functional Sr Directors/Directors and their senior staff.
- Defines needed human and technology capabilities contributing to and helping to build necessary training. Mentors identifies communicates and actively participates in opportunities to improve process and/or technology. These may include business process outsourcing application development or adopting business process management (BPM) practices.
- Accountable for the creation and further refinement of project requirements and for BTO Demand initiation and coordination. Anticipates risks project/program risks defines mitigation plans and works with teams to implement. Working with business partners and BTO management responsible for resolving changes to scope issues and risks that will affect multiple and/or largescale projects/programs.
- Simultaneously considers objectives of multiple functions. Measure performance to ensure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget. Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed business process improvements and the technical solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization decisions are made. Understand and execute AbbVies vision goals and strategies and use this understanding to broker services.
- As an individual contributor adeptly navigate crossfunctional and highly matrixed teams through indirect authority. Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work including technical financial and quality aspects. and delegates assignments across multiple and/or largescale projects/programs. Accountable for actions and decisions taken by self and project teams.
- Anticipates and responds to current and emerging business needs and evaluates alternative IT solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices. Determines necessary resources to ensure program and business needs are addressed through proactive priority management with business leaders. Manages motivates and mentor crossfunctional and enterprise project teams. Works with governance bodies to ensure alignment.
- Proactively seeks strategic business opportunities for the application of new or existing IT capabilities (across multiple business areas) with highlevel business unit executives providing key opinionleading clients with comprehensive strategic analyses and insights to help them discover strategic uses of IT products and services. Experience managing a project/program budget of at least $1 million.
- Build collaborative relationships and effectively interact frequently with business and/or technology senior leaders. Act as a senior liaison and business process expert to IT organizations to ensure successful implementation. Serves as a source of information to the service organizations on the business drivers processes and organization structure and dynamics of multiple business areas. Subject matter expert in their technology and/or functional domain.
- Interact well with diverse groups within function and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators. Consistently demonstrate AbbVies Ways of Working and Leadership Attributes including an enterprise mindset and people leadership. Serves as a mentor to develop and recognize talent. The ability to communicate problems in terms that are understandable to BTS Leadership and end users at all levels.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Bachelors Degree with 9 years Masters degree with 8 years or PhD with 4 years of experience in computer science system analysis or a related study.
- 8 years of demonstrable experience of managing IT projects.
- Knowledge / qualification in IT standards such as ITIL.
- Demonstrable knowledge experience and capabilities in: financial planning and evaluation business plan development investment modeling portfolio planning and Request Project and Program methodologies and lifecycles e.g. SDLC.
Knowledge of Life Sciences/ Pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Preferred:
- Experience with TrackWise Digital from Honeywell.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
