Job Description

The Assistant Director of Communications for the College of Health Sciences manages both internal and external communications coordinates the creation of effective marketing and communication materials and executes strategic communication plans for the college and its programs. This role entails extensive writing highlighting the importance of maintaining a vibrant online presence.

This position is onsite at our Stephenville Texas campus. Work hours are Monday to Friday; 8:00 AM 5:00 PM or as work requirements indicate. This position may require work beyond normal business hours weekends and holidays. Must have the ability to work remotely at the request of the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in directing and supporting internal and external communications for COHS. Writes reviews edits and distributes communications across internal and external channels; prepares presentations and messaging while maintaining a positive image and promoting the universitys brand identity.

  • Oversee creative teams in the development of effective marketing and communication materials including production and design direction branding strategies quality control of materials and adherence to university brand and style guides.

  • Provide project management and supervision for fulltime employees student workers and interns ensuring timely and effective of marketing and communication initiatives.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategic marketing and communication plans aligned with COHS and universitywide goals.

  • Create and share messaging and branding strategies that effectively communicate institutional priorities and impact to internal and external constituents including stakeholders employees and leadership.

  • Manage and maintain the college website by creating content ensuring consistency with university brand and messaging standards and contributing to social media strategy and .

  • Collaborate with Central MarCom to create print and digital marketing materials for the college; support media outreach efforts and assist with planning logistics coordination and promotion of key college events.

Minimum Requirements:

Education Bachelors degree in marketing communications or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Seven years of related experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Preferred experience working in a health sciencerelated field.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal written and presentation skills with demonstrated expertise in writing editing and planning communications; strong attention to detail.

  • Proficient in word processing spreadsheet and presentation software; wellorganized with excellent time and project management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask work independently and collaborate effectively with teams; strong interpersonal communication and supervisory skills.

Other Requirements:

  • The hiring manager could request a portfolio of previous work samples.

Salary

Commensurate with experience

Salary Range

The target base annual salary range is $59370 to $84.311 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
