Job Description
Head Mens and Womens Track and Field Coach
Position Overview:The Head Track & Field Coach will be involved with the daytoday administration of a Division II mens and womens track and field program and must attend all sportrelated activities as required. The Head Coach will be involved in daily communication and interaction with studentathletes for their respective sport and will make it priority to grow and develop their studentathletes both academically and athletically. The Head Coach is directly responsible for overseeing all aspects of their respective program and serves as the face of the program in relation to CSP Athletics and CSP as a whole. The Head Coach will support the mission and values of CSP and serve as a mentor and role model to student athletes.
Essential Duties:
Essential Duties:
- Program administration: Attend all staff meetings (compliance practice planning academic strength & conditioning individuals) assist with travel arrangements for competition scheduling communicate with athletic administration regarding sportspecific initiatives delegate administrative duties to other staff members as appropriate manage sportspecific budget and processes associated.
- Technical instruction: Attend all practices and games oversee all practice logistics implement game planoriented drills strategic preparation for opposing teams.
- Fundraising: Organize and oversee sportspecific fundraising activities.
- Recruiting: Oversee all program recruiting activities correspondence with prospective studentathletes; meet with recruits and families on a regular basis; evaluate talent of prospective studentathletes; evaluate academic qualifications of prospective studentathletes; determine potential athletic aid awards for prospective studentathletes relative to program scholarship budgets determine and oversee social media strategies.
- Abide by NCAA NSIC and CSP rules and regulations and pass NCAA recruiting exam on annual basis.
- Alumni Relations: Organize implement and oversee all sportspecific alumni relations.
- CSP Relations: Actively communicate with various CSP constituents (Financial Aid Academic Advising Admissions Athletic Administration)
- Other sportspecific duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree: Required
- Masters Degree: Preferred
- Certification or Licensure: Required
- American Red Cross CPR Certification: Required
- Prior experience as a head or assistant track and field coach preferably at the collegiate level
Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to work on a team and in a fastpaced environment
- Ability to articulate sportspecific instruction to studentathletes
- Ability to effectively delegate responsibilities
- Exceptional public speaking skills
- Familiarity with budgetary concepts
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this position are consistent with a professional office environment and require regular sitting standing and walking/moving about. Additional demands or those inconsistent with a professional office environment are detailed below.
