The Council Liaison serves as a vital connection between the Mayors Office and the City Council including the various Council Committees.This role willrepresenttheMayorin interactions with Councilmembers and committees advancing theMayorspolicy priorities and ensuring consistent informed communication between branches.
Key Responsibilities:
AdvocateforMayorspolicy priorities andmaintainstrong working relationships.
Track andmonitorthe development of legislation and Council initiatives; providetimelyanalysis and updates to theMayorand senior staff.
Conduct research to support policy initiatives andidentifydata metrics and best practices that inform decisionmaking.
Ensure the Mayor is fully briefed on all agenda items for committee meetings council briefings and council sessions.
Prepare draft and edit talking points official communications and informational materials for theMayor.
Attend community meetings and public forums.
Collaborate with community groups to understand and elevate local concerns and align them with city policy efforts.
Provide support for constituent services and respond to public inquiries in coordination with the Mayors Office.
Review evaluate and interpret incoming correspondence and legislative documents advising theMayoraccordingly.
