This is a leadership role for someone whos passionate about working with vulnerable populations specifically unhoused and homeless. As a Social Services Supervisor in homeless services youll lead a dedicated team working directly with individuals and families who are experiencing or at risk of homelessnessconnecting them with critical resources like shelter permanent housing health care mental health support and job services.
Your daytoday is providing support and guidance for your team. You will supervise program staff through complex situations verify funded providers in the community are receiving technical support lead through innovation and ensure deadlines are met. This position will also collaborate with community partners and other agencies to break down barriers and open more doors for those we serve.
You will play a critical role in guiding Pierce Countys efforts to end homelessness. You will lead and facilitate two major workgroups that the County Council has designated to assist with stamping out homelessness in our community. This position will provide administrative support and coordination with citizens advisory boards the County Executives and the County Council.

It is the largest contributor to Pierce Countys safety net providing services and funding to nearly 170 agencies and governmental jurisdictions. How to be Successful in the Role:
In this role the successful candidate must be able to build consensus and relationships as we work with community partners and stakeholders in developing programs strategies and plans to address homeless issues in our community. To be successful the candidate must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing have strong leadership facilitation and presentation skills. In this role you will be one of the key players in our efforts to end homelessness in Pierce County. You must have a passion for this issue and be willing to work hard to help us tackle this issue. In this role you will work closely with various community partners and workgroups who all have ideas on how to address this issue. In your role you will need strong analytical and leadership skills as you lead your internal staff through data collection and data analysis efforts. You will bring your budget development and monitoring experience as you assist with monitoring and making budget recommendations related to this program. The successful candidate will have the ability to work within a team have strong communication skills both written and verbal and be a problem solver as you work through issues related to this new program.
