Job Description

About the Role

Provide oneonone support to young people living with disability in their homes or out in the community. This role involves working short split shifts and requires a caring dedicated approach to supporting young individuals living with complex needs.

Shift times:

Weekly Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday: 7am to 9am and 2:30pm to 5:30pm

Fortnightly Saturday: 10am to 2pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to young people with their daily personal care tasks and domestic assistance including meal preparation ensuring they feel safe respected and empowered
  • Foster a nurturing and positive environment that helps the young people we support feel understood and valued whether it be during community outings social activities or appointments
  • Follow personcentred active support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
  • Ability to remain calm patient and encouraging in challenging or emotionally sensitive situations
  • Build meaningful trusting relationships with children and their families

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with young people who display behaviours of concern and complex trauma is essential
  • An unrestricted New South Wales drivers licence
  • Committed to work flexible hours across the week including public holidays
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
  • A current First Aid Certificate which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011

Successful candidates will be required to clear all statebased probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
